The Breath of Spring…
By John McLeod
The breath of Spring
Lifting on wings that feel
The pulse of Life
Hope that will bring
A sense of 'real'
After the shadowy, wintry days
Now gone....

I hope you enjoy these poetic ideas. They help me as I look forward to FIC's coming year. You can see from the articles in this new letter that our organization is enjoying the 'pulse of life.' As I continue to plan our Paris trip I look forward to exciting and interesting experiences with our lively group of travelers. Our members are very special people who travel well together.
Our trip to Indonesia promises to continue the FIC's 'pulse of life' as we encounter cultures with interests common to ours but with a little different spin. Our Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh will be a chance to enjoy fall weather and explore the East Coast . I hope you are inspired to take one of our trips. The Foundation for International Cooperation always attempts to add a little extra to what you usually experience on a tour.
I wanted to draw your attention to one of the unique advantages to membership in the Foundation for International Cooperation, our Bed and Breakfast offering. If you look in your directory you will find that there are asterisks before some of the names. That little symbol means that those members want you to know that you can visit them and stay awhile. It means that they will offer breakfast and accommodations if you are traveling in their area.. A donation of $20 is made to the host which can be sent to the FIC. What a deal! Can you think of any other organization which offers this? Take advantage of this! Call me in San Diego. I have a lovely guest room that is waiting for you.
As you continue to enjoy this season with its 'breath of Spring' know that you are a member of a very lively organization committed to making a difference in the world by contributing to education with the Colegio Esperanza in Mexico and other similar projects, widening your world view with travel opportunities, local chapters that provide a connection with intelligent interesting people.. Keep in touch with me. I want to know what you are interested in. How can we make this organization better?
